About Dr Rosina McAlpine
Brief Biography for Dr Rosina McAlpine, Founder and Developer of Inspired Children
Dr. Rosina McAlpine is an Associate Professor at the University of Sydney (see University of Sydney ) and has a Masters degree and a PhD in education. She is an award-winning educator having received 3 outstanding teaching awards - national citation in 2006, faculty award in 2008, university award in 2009. In 2011, Rosina was honoured with a prestigious national award - the Australian Learning and Teaching Council, Australian Awards for University Teaching, Award for Excellence in Teaching. There were only 22 awards given in this category in 2011 across Australia.. She is also internationally recognised for her research having received 5 international best paper awards and is ranked as the 17th highest contributor in the world in her research field.
Her focus in the last few years has been developing programs to help parents overcome the challenges of modern day parenting using the latest research in child development. A keen researcher, Rosina has interviewed leading minds around the world in psychology, neuro-science and biology for her forthcoming book entitled Inspired Children: how the leading minds of today raise their children.
After experiencing how powerful life coaching can be to help strengthen my sense of self and achieve my goals, I completed qualifications in life coaching and neuro linguistic programming NLP and have been working as a life coach for over 5 years. It is so rewarding to help my clients turn their lives around and lead happy and fulfilling lives.
One of the most wonderful roles I have had is becoming a mother in 2007. Since then my own learning and research focus has expanded to include child development and parenting. Drawing on my many years of teaching experience and research into learning I have been able to develop practical and innovative approaches to parenting. I am currently completing a forthcoming book on parenting as well as developing a comprehensive program to empower parents in helping their children develop key life skills.
